This tool uses per capita and per-unit water supply norms from:
- CPHEEO Manual on Sewerage and Sewage Treatment (3rd Edition) — standard reference for municipal sewage projects in India
- IS:1172 (BIS Code of Practice for Water Supply) — per capita demand for various building types
- National Building Code (NBC) of India — water requirements for commercial and institutional buildings
CPHEEO Note: Sewage generation is typically taken as 80% of water supply. Peak flow factor of 2.25× is applied for municipal sewage. Adjust as needed for specific projects based on local conditions and detailed surveys.
