ETP Manufacturer Rajasthan

RPCB-compliant effluent treatment plants for Rajasthan's industrial clusters — textile dyeing, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food processing, and agro-industries across Jaipur, Bhilwara, Kota, Alwar, Jodhpur, and Udaipur

Industry Overview

ETP Manufacturer Rajasthan

Rajasthan is one of India's fastest-growing industrial states — and one with some of the most challenging effluent management requirements. As a semi-arid state facing chronic water scarcity, Rajasthan's industrial sectors operate under strict RPCB discharge norms and, for water-intensive industries, mandatory Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) requirements. Spans Envirotech has been supplying ETPs, ZLD plants, and STPs to Rajasthan's industrial base for over three decades, with projects at RIICO industrial estates in Jaipur, Alwar, Bhilwara, Kota, Jodhpur, and Udaipur.

The textile and dyeing sector centred around Bhilwara, Pali, and Barmer presents the most complex effluent treatment challenge in Rajasthan. Textile dye house effluent is characterised by high COD (1,000–5,000 mg/L), intense colour from reactive dyes (1,000–5,000 Hazen Units), high TDS from sodium salt used in dyeing processes, and elevated pH from alkali use in pre-treatment. RPCB requires this effluent to be treated to BOD <30 mg/L, COD <250 mg/L, and colour <400 Hazen Units before discharge — standards that cannot be met with conventional biological treatment alone. ZLD is mandatory for these units in the water-stressed districts of Pali and Barmer.

Pharmaceutical and API manufacturing units in Jaipur and Jodhpur generate complex effluent containing residual active pharmaceutical ingredients, solvents, antibiotics, and high-COD organic compounds. These require multi-barrier treatment: physico-chemical pre-treatment to remove non-biodegradable compounds, followed by biological treatment with extended sludge retention times, and often followed by advanced tertiary treatment (activated carbon, ozonation) to meet stringent discharge limits. Spans Envirotech has specific expertise in pharmaceutical ETP design that addresses the API and solvent removal challenges unique to this sector.

Food processing units across Rajasthan's RIICO estates — from agro-processing in Jaipur and Kota to dairy processing clusters — generate high-BOD/COD effluent with fats, oils, and greases requiring DAF-based primary treatment followed by robust biological secondary treatment. These systems are more straightforward than textile or pharma ETPs but require proper sizing for seasonal production variation and appropriate sludge management for the relatively high sludge yields of food industry effluent. Spans has experience with the full spectrum of Rajasthan's industrial effluent types and recommends the optimal treatment train for each application.

Industry Challenges

Key Environmental Challenges

Water Scarcity and Mandatory ZLD

Rajasthan is one of India's most water-stressed states. RPCB mandates ZLD for textile dye units, distilleries, and tanneries — particularly in the Pali, Barmer, and Jodhpur districts. ZLD systems require RO followed by MEE/MVR evaporation, recovering 90–95% of water for reuse within the plant.

Textile Dye Effluent Colour Removal

Reactive and disperse dyes used in Bhilwara's textile clusters are highly resistant to biological degradation. Colour removal to below 400 Hazen Units requires physico-chemical pre-treatment (coagulation-flocculation, DAF) and advanced tertiary treatment (activated carbon adsorption or ozonation) in addition to conventional biological treatment.

Complex Pharmaceutical Effluent

Pharma and API manufacturing units in Jaipur and Jodhpur generate effluent with residual APIs, solvents, and antibiotics that inhibit conventional biological treatment. Low BOD:COD ratios (often <0.3) indicate poor biodegradability — requiring Fenton oxidation, ozonation, or activated carbon pre-treatment before biological stages.

High TDS from Dyeing Operations

Textile dye houses use large quantities of sodium sulphate and sodium chloride as dyeing assistants. Effluent TDS of 5,000–15,000 mg/L is common — far above the RPCB limit of 2,100 mg/L for discharge. TDS removal requires RO, which generates brine that must be further treated by evaporation in ZLD systems.

RPCB Compliance Documentation

RPCB requires comprehensive Consent to Establish (CTE) and Consent to Operate (CTO) documentation, including process design reports, environmental impact data, and online monitoring. Non-compliance leads to production stoppages and penalties. All Spans ETP projects include RPCB documentation support.

Remote Site Logistics and O&M

Many Rajasthan industrial estates are in remote or semi-urban locations with limited access to skilled ETP operators. Spans designs systems for low-operator dependency — using MBBR technology, automated chemical dosing, and SCADA monitoring — and provides annual maintenance contracts (AMC) for ongoing compliance assurance.

Our Solutions

Tailored Wastewater Treatment Solutions

Textile ETP with Colour Removal

Complete ETP systems for textile and dyeing units: physico-chemical primary treatment (coagulation, flocculation, DAF), aerobic biological treatment (MBBR or extended aeration), and tertiary activated carbon adsorption or ozonation for colour polishing to <400 Hazen Units. Achieves RPCB discharge compliance for BOD, COD, TSS, and colour parameters.

Pharmaceutical ETP with Advanced Treatment

Pharma ETP with Fenton oxidation or ozonation pre-treatment to degrade non-biodegradable APIs and solvents before biological treatment. MBBR biological stage with extended SRT for complete organic removal. Activated carbon polishing for residual compound removal. Sludge incineration or co-processing arrangements for pharmaceutical sludge disposal.

Food & Agro-Processing ETP

Integrated ETPs for food processing, dairy, and agro-industries: rotary drum screening, fat traps, DAF for FOG removal, MBBR biological treatment, secondary clarification, and tertiary sand filtration. Designed for variable production loads with RPCB-compliant treated effluent quality.

Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Systems

End-to-end ZLD systems for RPCB-mandated industries: ETP pre-treatment + Reverse Osmosis + MEE or MVR evaporation + ATFD. Achieves 90–95% water recovery. Designed for Rajasthan's water-stressed context where water reuse reduces freshwater dependency and demonstrates responsible water stewardship.

STP for Industrial Townships

Sewage Treatment Plants for industrial townships, worker housing, and RIICO estate common areas using MBBR or SBR technology. RPCB-compliant for Class B reuse (landscape irrigation, toilet flushing) or surface water discharge. Compact design suitable for RIICO estate constraints.

Annual Maintenance & O&M Services

AMC packages for ongoing RPCB compliance management: monthly performance audits, chemical dosing management, sludge dewatering and disposal coordination, online monitoring data management, and operator training. Available for all Spans-installed ETPs and for third-party ETPs requiring performance improvement.
